Esprit de Tablas Blanc is the flagship white wine from Tablas Creek and a benchmark for Rhône-style whites in California. The 2018 vintage is a masterclass in elegance and structure, led by Roussanne and supported by Grenache Blanc, Picpoul, Clairette Blanche, and Picardan. The fruit was estate-grown in limestone-rich soils under organic and biodynamic principles, a testament to purity and place.
This wine delivers a layered bouquet of honeycomb, orange blossom, ripe pear, and wet stone. On the palate, it shows depth without heaviness: custard, salted citrus, baked apple and pine nut weave together in a creamy yet mineral-driven frame. Its natural acidity and structure make it suitable for both immediate enjoyment and cellaring over the next 10 to 15 years.
The 2018 vintage was cool and even, with a long growing season that allowed full phenolic ripeness at moderate alcohol. The result is a wine that feels balanced, complete, and expressive. A white that can stand confidently next to the great wines of Châteauneuf-du-Pape.
Perfect for those who love complexity in white wines and want something beyond Chardonnay. Pair with lobster, rich poultry, or even truffled pasta. Only a small number of cases made it to Europe.
