Living Roots
Living Roots is a young transatlantic winery producing crisp, expressive wines from New York’s Finger Lakes and Australia’s Adelaide Hills. Their Rieslings and Pinot Noirs from the Finger Lakes capture the clarity and energy of one of the most exciting cool-climate wine regions in the United States.
Cabernet Franc thrives in cool climates, and nowhere in North America does it speak with more clarity and finesse than in New York’s Finger Lakes. The 2023 vintage from Living Roots captures the region’s signature character: red currant and raspberry on the nose, fine herbal lift, and a subtle smoky edge on the finish. It is sourced from prestigious vineyard sites around Cayuga Lake and Keuka Lake
Living Roots ferments this wine using mostly whole berries, preserving purity of fruit and texture. It’s a lighter, more aromatic interpretation than what many expect from Cabernet Franc. Framed by brisk acidity, soft tannins, and just enough structure to pair well with both casual and elevated meals. Think roasted vegetables, grilled duck, or a smoky lentil stew.
