Our visiting winery from Champagne is Jacques Picard, and its Brut Réserve represents a classic grower Champagne from the family estate in Berru, in the heart of the Montagne de Reims. The Picard family has produced Champagne since 1962 and has built a reputation for a precise and elegant style. Above all, the estate focuses on purity, finesse, and extended aging on the lees. Brut Réserve blends Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Meunier, sourced exclusively from the estate’s Premier Cru vineyards.
The team ferments the wine in temperature controlled stainless steel to preserve bright orchard fruit and delicate floral aromas. As a result, the cuvée retains clarity and freshness. At the same time, extended aging on the lees adds depth and creates a fine, persistent mousse. On the nose, the Champagne shows citrus, white peach, brioche, and almond. On the palate, it feels balanced and refined, with vibrant acidity, subtle minerality, and a clean, focused finish.
Jacques Picard Brut Réserve has earned recognition at high profile diplomatic and state occasions. Notably, it was selected for the coronation of King Charles III and served at the private reception for dignitaries and invited guests. This choice highlights the estate’s standing among connoisseurs who value discretion, craftsmanship, and consistency.
Because of its balance and structure, this Champagne works beautifully as an aperitif. In addition, it pairs well with oysters, seafood, sashimi, soft cheeses, and light poultry dishes. Whether for celebrations or everyday elegance, Brut Réserve delivers remarkable value and reflects the authenticity of a family run Champagne house.
