The Patelin de Tablas 2019 is Tablas Creek’s signature expression of the classic red Rhône blend, crafted from Syrah, Grenache, Mourvèdre and Counoise sourced from leading vineyards across Paso Robles. Syrah provides dark fruit, spice and minerality, Grenache adds brightness and lift, Mourvèdre brings structure and depth, and a touch of Counoise rounds out the blend with freshness and complexity. The result is a wine that captures both the energy of the vintage and the estate’s Rhône-inspired craftsmanship.
The 2019 release has been widely praised for its remarkable quality and value, with reviewers highlighting its clarity, spice, balance and expressive fruit. Across respected publications, it has earned consistent praise for its generous character, depth and overall harmony.
On the nose, the wine opens with blackberry, bramble, teriyaki and black pepper. The palate is lively and juicy, showing elderberry, graphite, tangy plum skin and notes of loamy earth. The finish is long and refined, framed by gentle tannins and lingering black fruit and forest spice. It is ready to enjoy now but has the concentration and balance to age gracefully for up to ten years.
