Tablas Creek Panoplie 2018 is the flagship red wine of Tablas Creek Vineyard and one of the most sought-after Rhône-style blends in the United States. Produced only in exceptional vintages and released exclusively to members of the winery, this cuvée brings together the depth of Mourvèdre, the power of Syrah, and the lift of Grenache. All fruit is grown in the certified organic and biodynamic estate vineyard in the Adelaida District of Paso Robles, on limestone-rich soils that give the wine remarkable freshness and precision.
The 2018 vintage benefited from one of the coolest and longest growing seasons in the region. Slow ripening produced exceptional purity, structured tannins, and a balanced acidity that makes this one of the most refined Panoplie expressions of the last decade. The wine opens with aromas of dark cherry, raspberry, cassis, and savory herbal notes. The palate is layered and concentrated with dark fruit, earth, licorice, and a pronounced mineral core. Mourvèdre sets the tone with its structure and depth, Syrah adds spice and richness, and Grenache brings brightness and aromatic lift.
Aged in large French oak foudres and bottled unfined and unfiltered, Panoplie 2018 shows the elegance and transparency that define Tablas Creek. It carries significant cellaring potential and will evolve gracefully over the next 15 to 20 years. This wine is exceptionally rare in Europe and represents the long-standing collaboration between the Perrin family of Château de Beaucastel and the late Robert Haas, who introduced Rhône varieties to Paso Robles. A landmark American wine with a true transatlantic legacy.
