From the limestone‑rich slopes of the Adelaida District in Paso Robles, the 2018 Marsanne represents a rare and refined expression of Californian Rhône‑style white winemaking. At its core is 100 % estate‑grown Marsanne, cultivated on vineyards managed under organic and biodynamic principles for over two decades. The 2018 growing season brought generous winter rainfall and steady warmth during ripening, allowing the vines to develop depth of flavour while preserving vibrant natural acidity.
In the cellar, each lot was fermented on native yeasts and aged in neutral French oak, emphasising texture over oak character and letting the vineyard speak. The wine opens with fragrances of honeysuckle and ripe quince, which lead into a palate of pear‑skin fruit, lavender tea and salted caramel, followed by a long chalky finish with quiet tension and mineral clarity. Though approachable now, this Marsanne is built to evolve: it is already showing a combination of richness and restraint that suggests ten years or more of cellaring potential.
Purchasing this wine via americanwine.club means accessing one of the few European allocations of this varietal. While most Marsanne is bottled only in very limited quantities and distributed primarily in North America, we have secured an allocation for our community that reflects our dedication to American‑crafted, terroir‑driven wines. Each bottle is stored under premium conditions in Hagen and delivered with provenance you can trust.
Pair it with dry‑aged chicken, herb‑crusted hake, raclette or a warm‑spring vegetable ragout. Serve at 10–12 °C and decant if enjoyed within its first few years.
