Cathy Corison is a legend. When she began making wine in Napa in the 1980s, she was one of the few women in the cellar and she’s been setting the standard for elegant, age-worthy Cabernet ever since. The 2020 Napa Valley bottling comes from benchland vineyards between Rutherford and St. Helena, where Cathy sources old vines that yield fruit with depth, structure, and remarkable freshness.
Her wines have always marched to the beat of their own drum: no over-extraction, no heavy oak, just pure expression of place. This vintage is no exception. Black cherry, cassis, dried herbs, violets, and a streak of minerality make this a wine to savor now or cellar for a decade or more.
Today, Cathy is joined at the winery by her daughter Grace, continuing the family legacy. Together, they remain independent and fiercely focused on crafting wines that speak softly but carry a long finish. This is Napa with soul. We are proud to be able to share Corison on americanwine.club and are grateful for the collegial trust and generous support of K&U Weinhalle, the official importer of Corison in Germany. It is far from a given and we truly appreciate their openness in making this possible.
