From the historic estate of Chateau Montelena in Napa Valley comes the 2021 Napa Valley Chardonnay, a refined expression of Californian Chardonnay built on heritage, precision, and elegant structure.
Chateau Montelena became world-famous when its 1973 Chardonnay triumphed over top French white Burgundies at the 1976 Judgment of Paris, a blind tasting that stunned the wine world and put Napa Valley on the global stage. The 2021 vintage continues that legacy with poise and precision.
Made from 100% Chardonnay grapes, the wine was matured for 10 months in French oak barrels. It opens with aromas of orange blossom, green apple, white peach, and delicate floral notes. On the palate, expect vibrant citrus, chalky minerality, and subtle richness reminiscent of lemon curd and crème brûlée — all balanced by fresh acidity and a long, refined finish.
This is a Chardonnay of both elegance and age-worthiness. Enjoy now with a short decant, or cellar for 5–10 years to reveal added layers of complexity. Perfect alongside shellfish, poultry in cream sauce, or aged cheeses. Serve chilled at 10–12 °C.
